App Rules & Terminal Paste Protection
OpenClip enforces application rules stored in ~/.openclip/rules.json:
- Built-in Blacklist: Suppresses HUD popup in virtual machines (Parallels, VMware), creative apps (Photoshop, Illustrator), and games.
- Terminal Paste Protection: For terminal apps (Terminal, iTerm2, Ghostty, Kitty, Warp, Alacritty), OpenClip automatically applies
denyPaste: true. Actions that normally paste text will copy to clipboard instead, preventing accidental execution of raw shell commands.
Menu Bar Status Item
The menu bar paperclip icon reflects live state (100% opacity when active, 45% opacity when paused). Click the icon to quickly toggle OpenClip, open Preferences, or quit the application.
